Yak 52
VH-UHO
The aircraft was built in 1984 and used in Russia for military flight training for Soviet pilots. They trained in the Yak 52 before moving on to the L29 Delphin or L39 Albatross jet. The cockpit layouts are very similar. The aircraft was used primarily for circuit training before being left abandoned in a field for almost two decades.
It was found by an Australian aviation enthusiast, brought to Australia and meticulously restored over almost a five year period. It was then offered up for sale and found a new home in Bundaberg, Queensland where it is now being operated by Xtreme Aviation for warbird adventure flying and aerobatic flight training.
